Adults 18 years, of age and over: Take 1 capsule daily for at least 7 days and up to 14 days.
Swallow the capsule whole with water, with or without food. Do not crush, chew or open the capsule. Not intended for immediate relief. It may take a few days to achieve maximum results.
Do not take for more than 14 days unless directed by a doctor.

A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled 7-day study of Nexium 7-day treatment of persistent acid reflux (PH) and persistent heartburn (QoR) is being conducted at the University Hospital in Zagreb (Zagreb, Croatia) in the Department of Gastroenterology and Nutrition at the University Medical Center Zagreb. Patients who have persistent acid reflux (PUR) and heartburn (QoR) and have been using proton pump inhibitors, esomeprazole, or omeprazole, and have symptoms of acid regurgitation for more than 4 weeks are included. The patients are randomized (1:1) to Nexium 7-day treatment (Nexium 7 day) or to placebo. Patients with persistent acid reflux and history of heartburn, heartburn, and persistent acid reflux are included in the trial.
The primary endpoint is the difference in the clinical score on the NEXIUM-EPI Trial scale (NEXIUM) between the Nexium 7-day treatment group and the placebo group during 7 days of treatment.
The secondary endpoints are the occurrence of acid reflux, dyspepsia, and dyscanthropey, which are common and should be treated with proton pump inhibitors and esomeprazole.
